Tips for Healing

Welcome to "Out of the Wreckage," where we believe that healing is a journey filled with ups and downs, but always leading towards a brighter place. We are here to equip you with strategies to deal with hurt and emotional pain, offering a safe space where you can find solace and inspiration.

I have found that the further you go on this healing journey, the more you begin to fully know yourself and understand why you feel the things you feel and where they come from, you begin to build a sacred bond with self. Appreciating and respecting yourself for being courageous and bold, for going through the things that you did and made it out the other side. This begins to grow an inner confidence and a truly organic love for ones self. This, is the good stuff, the stable foundations of life. This is what will carry you through every future hurdle.

Practice Self-Compassion

One of the most important aspects of healing is practising self-compassion. Be kind to yourself, acknowledge your pain, and allow yourself to feel your emotions without judgement. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer a friend in need.

What has always helped me, is alone time. We must have quiet time to sit and reflect which can be one of the hardest things to do. Simply because when our minds are quieted, things tend to surface for us that are uncomfortable. What we must keep in mind is that it is in those uncomfortable times, the most growth takes place. It is vital we are able to allow those hurt emotions and pain to surface and that we feel them. It's imperative in moving forward and being able to release them. Understand that it may take multiple attempts to release a certain trauma. We may need to feel it and sit with it multiple times for multiple years, in some cases. Be good to yourself during these times, know that this is not easy, so have patience with yourself. Love yourself. It may feel as though you are having to relive an experience over and over and it's difficult, I know but very necessary. I find a good cleansing bath is amazing after each meditative time. To just soak in some bath salts with some soft music playing. Light a candle and maybe burn some oils or incense. It helps to ground yourself and bring you back into a sense of peace and relaxation. Find time to do something you enjoy, whether that be reading a good book, watching your favorite show, or simply eating your favorite food. Love on yourself. And understand that although the healing journey is a hard one, it is also part of loving yourself.

Connect with Nature

Nature has a powerful healing effect on the mind and soul. Take some time to go for a walk in the park, sit by a river, or simply spend a few moments in your garden. Connecting with nature can help you find peace, clarity, and a sense of renewal.

Practice Mindfulness

Being present in the moment through mindfulness can help you cope with emotional pain. Take a few minutes each day to focus on your breath, observe your thoughts without judgement, and cultivate a sense of awareness. Mindfulness can bring a sense of calm and balance to your life.

Seek Support

Healing is not a journey you have to take alone. Reach out to friends, family, or a therapist for support. Talking about your feelings and experiences with someone you trust can help you feel understood and supported. Remember, it's okay to ask for help.
